The 88-room Hilton Historic Bayfront is themed around Second Period Colonial Spanish Architecture. The hotel is complete with a parking garage hidden underneath to accommodate guests. Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc. assisted the architect in conducting over 30 public presentations during the approval process and provided hardscape and landscape design services for the hotel and adjacent streetscape.

The hotel blends with the surrounding buildings and history of downtown in its scale and detailing. Local elements such as coquina shell and brick were used in the hardscape. Native or period plantings complete the scene.

Rising from a former shipbuilding site on the San Sebastian River, Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc. is redeveloping a marine-oriented retail, hospitality, and residential village with spectacular views of downtown St. Augustine. The project includes a 1,200 foot pedestrian promenade that can support fishing tournaments, art fairs, farmer’s markets, and community events.

Utilizing the site’s close relationship to the water, ML+H has created a master plan and detailed design that includes public spaces and parks. The results successfully transition the St. Augustine Shipyard from a former boat manufacturing location into a vibrant celebration of the working waterfront.

Started by two friends from Flagler College, Big Island Bowls was already known for artisan foods and colorful food trucks. The challenge was to create a food truck park that welcomed other vendors, became a neighborhood venue to meet friends, and a place to chill out.

Located on A1A on the way to the beach, the venue spot is perfect as a food festival location.

The new food truck park includes space for six vendors, and commissary kitchen. Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc., created a lush tropical setting that includes shaded seating, events stage, natural stormwater filtration, urban garden, solar power and other sustainable site features. The results: a cool vibe with great food!

These two resort hotels are located adjacent to Epcot Center and combined provide 2,300 guestrooms and over 250,000 sq. ft. of convention facilities. Situated around a man-made crescent-shaped lake, punctuated by a swimming beach and monumental swimming pool, this landscape places great care and detail in its stylized gardens. Frederick Halback was responsible for the site design and landscape architectural elements.

Frederick Halback was responsible for the site development and landscape architectural theme of this animal habitat at Disney’s most unique resort hotel. The 1,300-room hotel affords the guest an immersive experience in the Great Continent. Animal habitat and viewing locations, rockwork, themed landscape, and spring pools are carefully detailed. As an original member of the cast, the landscape architect was involved in all aspects of the site’s creation.

The rich site experience transports the guest into the unique landscapes of Africa. Authentic plantings and site features provide a backdrop for animal viewing, and visual engagement.
