University of West Florida Landscape Master Plan
Project Description + Challenge
Creating a Spirited Community through Natural Landscapes
The University of West Florida retained the team at Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc. to develop a forward-looking landscape master plan to serve as the basis for the upcoming campus master plan.
Our Solution
The University has used the landscape master plan for both upcoming implementation projects as well as a foundation document on the overall University master plan. The first project, which is the main entry monument, will orient students, faculty, and the community within the “University meets State Park” setting. Other priority projects include the campus green, the new sculpture garden for the Performing Arts facility, a trail head for the conservation lands, and a dramatic overlook on the Escambia River for alumni and student events.
